COMBAT Derby Girls Win USSSA World Championship

Team ends final game with walk-off to secure victory.

KENT, Wash. – October 7, 2015 – COMBAT’s Derby Girls slow pitch softball team recently captured the USSSA World Championship title in dramatic fashion with a walk-off hit by Kami Marrott.  The team, comprised of 17 players from all over the country, competed in the annual USSSA Worlds in Kissimmee, Florida.  Led by Tara Salcedo and Christan Dowling, the team finished the summer season with an impressive overall 47-5 record.

The USSSA Women’s Worlds is a three-day tournament comprised of 12 teams brought together in Kissimmee, Florida at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports to contend for the USSSA Women’s Slowpitch Championship. Teams travel from all over the country to vie for the chance to take home the trophy and to compete against the best fellow female athletes.
